Even more castles for you! Sure, most are from Germany - go figure, I live here - but we have a couple of Luxembourgish castles for you this time as well..
Rhein River Castles, Hessen/Rheinland-Pfalz, Germany
The Rhein River is one of the major navigable
rivers in Germany, flowing from Lake Constance to the North Sea.
As such, it had a great strategic and financial importance to the nobles
who held pieces of land along its route. What better way to make
money than to place giant chains across the river and demand tolls for
safe passage?
Chateau Larochette, Luxembourg
This beautiful castle, located in the "Little
Switzerland" area of eastern Luxembourg, dates back to the 11th Century.
The ruins were very impressive and definitely worth the admission fee!

Chateau Beaufort, Luxembourg
Also located in the Little Switzerland
region of Luxembourg, Chateau Beaufort was built in the late 12th century.
The original construction was in the Romanesque style, though later Gothic
additions were made to expand the castle. There is also a more modern
chateau located on the property, which unfortunately is closed to the public.
