Links
to some other photography resources on the web
This is by no means
a comprehensive list, just the ones I think are good enough to post.
Links are up to date as of June 2011.
PHOTOGRAPHERS'
RESOURCE SITES
RULES
EVERY U.S. PHOTOGRAPHER SHOULD KNOW
Photographers often get hassled by overprotective
government officials who, though they mean well, may have an inaccurate
perception of the law. I have taken to carrying around what I refer
to as "hassle sheets," which are copies of several applicable federal regulations
regarding photography.
Caveat: this list was last updated 22 June 2011. I would suggest that you yourself check to make sure you have
the latest version of the law. Also, since the links below
are always subject to change, if one comes up dead, please email
me and I'll update it.
PHOTOGRAPHIC
EQUIPMENT
-
KEH
Camera Brokers- possibly the world's largest used camera dealer.
A great source for used equipment and also an excellent benchmark for the
market value of used equipment.
-
B&H
Photo Video: - a new / used source that most consider the industry
leader. They'll treat you right. Closed on Jewish
holidays.
-
Adorama
Camera - with B&H, the second of the two New York camera powerhouses.
Great used selections. Also closed on Jewish holidays.
-
eBay
Photo Equipment. If you haven't bought or sold on eBay, you
haven't made your money work for you.
-
Cameraworld.com
- Look for weekend specials; sales over $$200 usually get $50 off, very
nice for ordering film.
CANON
MINOLTA
MAMIYA
-
Mamiya
USA - includes a very useful owner discussion group.
-
The Mamiya
TLR System Summary, courtesy of Graham Patterson.
-
The Medium
Format Digest at photo.net, a very useful discussion group.
Just check the archives before you post.
-
Photo.net's static content includes this
page on Mamiya TLRs, works as a nice thumbnail of Graham's page.
-
If your brain works in 35mm and you are trying
to choose a comparable medium or large format lens, this
table is for you.

SOME
FELLOW PHOTOGRAPHERS
-
Waterfall
Walks on the Web - by Mark Morrison, who I consider to be an authority
on Southeastern waterfalls.
-
David
Naylor - from Sweden. His excellent floral work reminds me
that I need to use my macro lens more often.
TRAVEL
RESOURCES
-
If my Icelandic photos piqued your interest
in that country, visit Iceland
Top Links for an Internet yellow pages of Icelandic resources.
WEBSITE
& E-COMMERCE TOOLS
-
Deal in e-commerce? PayPal
lets
you take credit cards from customers and gives you the option of mailing
a check or direct deposit. Very helpful for eBay-er's, and unlike
eBay's recommended payment service this one is FREE.
-
Honesty.com
- another helpful tool for eBayers as welll as site designers; counters,
limited image hosting, and other free services.
-
Photography web sites should be kept simple
so there are no distractions from the photographs. But if you must
see the latest whizzy Web special effects, click
here for suggestions.
THE
"I LOVE ME" SECTION*
See my work elsewhere at SetiPrime,
at
Seraphim Music at
Life
Imitates Art Magazine, at the
Atlanta chapter of the National Association of Professional Mortgage Women
(NAPMW), at Stardatecards.com,
and at Go-Arizona.com.
And by the way, if you're a charitable institution, such as a school, or
you just promise not to make a profit off my work here, you can use my
work for free. Otherwise, please email
me and we can work out something nominal. (In God and charity
I trust; all others pay cash.)
More
to come, as I find them.
Meanwhile, please email me
if you run across any broken links on this page.
