Afghanistan (and Oman)

Kuwait 1 - Kuwait 2 - Iraq - Afghanistan 1 - Afghanistan 2

My first visit to Afghanistan was during the rainy season in late February 2005.  I was there for a week for a pretrial investigation hearing; not only did I get a chance to take a few photos, but the charges against my client were dismissed without going to trial.  Always nice when that works out.  I also had a 6-hour stopover in Qatar on my way back to Kuwait during this trip, but I didn't take too many photos and those that I did aren't that great.

My second visit was in August 2005 to defend a soldier who had dealt drugs at a forward operating base.  Things didn't go so well for him; he received four years' confinement and a dishonorable discharge, though the plea agreement limited his confinement to only one year.  Lesson here: DON'T DO DRUGS.
